As the software does not reside on everyone’s desktop PC, the ICT Manager no longer has to make a desk side visit for every problem that arises. Most of the problems raised can be rectified quickly and usually without a visit, even if the terminals are located in remote sites.
Software updates also no longer need installing on every PC. Simply install the updates on the central server, and the next time a user logs on to their system it will be automatically updated.
This will enable you to have the time to be able to adopt and implement a more strategic approach to your ICT, rather than having to continually fire fight.
