Best Value – get more from your ICT budget A reduction in the time you need to manage your network
Improved data security for your network Home access for both your staff and members

Data Security, access and permissions are a constant challenge for local authorities. But one of the inherent benefits that a Server Based Computing or VDI solution is that it will enable you to provide a secure and controllable ICT infrastructure.

These security benefits include:

Centralised storage
As no data is stored on a desktop PC, but in a secure server room, the risk of your sensitive data falling into the wrong hands is substantially reduced.

Reduced threat of viruses
As the desktop Thin Client device has no local storage as well as the ability to lock down all of its ports, it dramatically reduces the threat posed by viruses.

This ability to lock the units down also reduces the chance of employees tampering with the desktop and changing the configuration settings.

Reduction in theft of desktop devices
As Thin Client desktop devices require a complete Server Based Network to operate, their intrinsic value on the street is virtually nil. This means that Thin Clients are not a prime target for theft, even if you need to use them in public areas.

Two Factor Authentication – CoCo Compliance

With the remit of the CoCo for all authorities who are connecting to the GCSx to have amongst other things 2 Factor Authentication for their network access.

We have implemented both Token and Tokenless authentication services into organisations, and are therefore ideally placed to assist you in your CoCo compliance.
