Leading Virtualisation re-seller, Axess Systems, has further strengthened its sales team with the appointment of Richard Berridge.
Richard brings with him a wealth of experience of virtualisation and Thin Client computing. He was most recently with HP as the Head of Virtualisation in the UK, and prior to this with Wyse Technology as a Regional Manager.
“Richard’s appointment will undoubtedly bring major benefits to Axess Systems. It’s not just the experience and understanding of the technology that he will bring, but also the considerable contacts and knowledge he has within the industry”, commented Ed Morton, Managing Director of Axess Systems.
Richard will be responsible for advising and developing new business with major accounts in the education and corporate sectors, and will have a portfolio that covers the UK.
Richard commented: “I’m really excited to be back working in virtualisation solutions, after numerous years working for manufacturers on what are inherently their own technologies. Having being involved in the technology for over sixteen years, I honestly do feel that virtualisation is now on the verge of mainstream adoption. This opportunity, combined with working for one of the UK’s fastest developing resellers in this area, made it an easy decision to join Axess Systems.”
Following on from the successes of 2009, where Axess Systems picked up the prestigious CRN Specialist Reseller of the Year, 2010 looks set to be another busy year. The company will celebrate its 10th birthday in November, and is planning to expand its consulting and technical support offering.

Axess Systems named as a finalist in the CRN Awards - September 2009
The CRN Channel Awards are the highlight of the year for our industry, so we are thrilled that we have been named as a finalist in the category of ‘Specialist Reseller of the Year’.
On announcing the short list, Sara Yirrell, Editor of leading trade magazine CRN, commented, “This is a great achievement as we received a record number of entries this year, and the competition was tough.”

The Wright Stuff for Education - July 2009
With education becoming an increasingly prominent and important sector for Axess Systems, we are delighted to announce that we have recruited Steven Wright to head up our Education Services Division.
Steven joins us after working for the last six years as an ICT Manager in large education centres. This comprehensive understanding of what is required by modern schools and colleges, will enable Axess Systems to be able to deliver specific education ICT Health checks, Security Checks, project management and installation services, to name but a few of our services.
Commenting on the appointment Ed Morton, Managing Director said “We are really pleased that we have Steven on board. His insight into the education sector will enable us to offer professional services that are relevant and cost effective to both our existing and potential customers.”
Steven added; “I was looking for a challenge that would still keep me within the education sector, but would enable me to develop the technologies I have implemented during my time in the education sector. Viva Las Vegas - May 2009
Live by satellite… (well video actually) Axess Systems feature on the keynote address at the Citrix Summit in Las Vegas.
The Citrix Summit is the main international forum for IT professionals involved with virtualisation and cloud technology. Held annually, the Summit features leading resellers who implement best practice during the course of the year. So, when Citrix invited Axess Systems to be involved with this high profile and prestigious event, we were thrilled.
As one of only two resellers in Europe who took part, Ed Morton and Heath Roberts, both went in front of the camera to be interviewed for Tom Flink, VP of Citrix Systems, Worldwide.
Commenting on the experience, Ed says “Whilst it was quite nerve wracking at the time, knowing that you were going to be shown in front of the global leaders in IT, it was a great experience and a great accolade for Axess Systems. It demonstrates that what we do here is recognised as being best practice… which can only be a good thing for the business!”

Educating the Educators - February 2009
Over the last few months, we have been attending various education sector exhibitions and seminars including Norwich, Manchester, London, Southampton and even the dizzying heights of the University of Oxford.
These events have been a brilliant opportunity for us to meet with many educators from the complete spectrum of educators; from rural primary schools, through to internationally recognised city universities. They have all given us the opportunity to explain first hand the benefits of introducing Server Based Computing and Virtualisation technology, which has benefits for all facets of education.

Axess make Graves new signing - January 2009
We are delighted to announce that Eric Graves has joined Axess Systems, in the role of Account Manager. Eric, who joins from Insight Direct from a similar position, will supplement our expanding Account Team.
Ed Morton, the Managing Director of Axess Systems commented, “I’m really pleased that Eric has joined Axess Systems. We are continuing to see the benefit of being a specialist supplier of Server Based Computing and Virtualisation technology. Outside of the office Eric is a talented footballer, having come through the youth ranks of Premier League giants, Stoke City. (Guess who the writer of this article supports) Eric played in the same youth team as current Manchester United goalkeeper Ben Foster, and leading Championship striker Martin Paterson, before a series of injuries saw his football career take a more secondary role, and he now plays for the local team, Belper Town.
