News May 2015: Rory Stars as The Apprentice
Rory Kiernan who works in our New Business and Account Management Team has been shortlisted for the Microsoft Apprentice of the Year Award.
The award ceremony, which takes place in June at Microsoft’s Head Quarters, are held annually to celebrate the careers and opportunities created by Microsoft Apprenticeships.
Rory, 20, began a Microsoft IT Sales Apprenticeship in August 2013, fresh out of school. As well as being in full time employment with Axess Systems in their Sales and Marketing team, he would travel down to London to study for his NVQ, as well as gaining vital work experience.
“I’m extremely grateful to both Microsoft and Axess Systems for providing me with the foundation required to have a long and prosperous sales career.” he said. “Axess have taken the time to invest in me which has become an enabler for me to be successful. The fact that they nominated me for this award shows the loyalty and belief they have for their workforce, this is a real team here.”
Founder and managing Director of Axess Systems, Ed Morton, said he was “absolutely chuffed to bits” to see Rory shortlisted for the award. He continued “Rory brings a lot of knowledge and enthusiasm into our team and I can’t wait to accompany him down to Reading. I feel we have uncovered a future star.”
We’ll certainly be cheering for Rory on June 4th no matter what the outcome.
