Wear your medal with pride Rory

Rory finishing the Derby 10K
Rory’s been mentioned on these pages before for his technical achievements in Microsoft’s IT apprentice of the year competition.

Well, on the 9th April 2017, running with his father, Rory completed the Derby 10k run. He’s not saying which of them came in first but they both finished as the official picture will prove.

10K is the most popular running distance – at just over 6 miles it’s a serious challenge for those starting out but is also a great event for seasoned runners chasing personal bests or using it as a stepping stone to longer distances.

Longer distances? Does this mean that Rory will soon be heading for the start line of the London marathon and the full 26 miles.

All I can say is watch this space.

The Derby 10K was sponsored by Central Health & Derby City Council.

And the organiser was Sporting Futures, a unique charitable organisation that successfully raises the aspirations of young people by providing them with opportunities to achieve their potential and improve their lives through the power of sport.

Rory may not have won the race, but his contribution will help support young people in Derbyshire to reach for a better future.
