Welcome, James! Axess Systems appoints new marketing executive

WE are delighted to have strengthened our growing workforce by bringing in a new member to boost the marketing team.

University of Derby graduate James Walker joins Axess Systems as marketing executive. The 23-year-old becomes our fifth new appointment in less than 12 months, joining Mike Smith, Ian Dickerson, Josh Young and Greg Cork.

James has previously worked as a marketing intern with Derby charity Safe & Sound. He achieved a first-class honours in his undergraduate degree and a distinction in a marketing management post-graduate course, also previously worked for an engineering firm, but this was curtailed due to the pandemic.

James, a Derby County supporter, said: “I’m looking forward to working with Axess Systems at an exciting time of growth for the business. IT is a sector which, at the moment, is very much needed.

“The past 12 months for me, personally, have been a challenge as, due to coronavirus, I’ve had to cut short an internship and, since August, have been unemployed.

“But the skills I have learned during my time at the University of Derby are transferrable into my new role and I cannot wait to get stuck in.”

Marketing Director Heath Roberts said: “We are very fortunate to have secured the services of someone with such great credentials at James and I’m certain that he’ll be a great asset to Axess Systems.”
