Ed Morton
Founder and Managing Director
Ed founded Axess Systems in November 2000. And if you don’t know about how and where Ed got the inspiration to do so, you can read it here.
While Ed is responsible for strategy delivery and operational implementation, he’s no ivory tower Managing Director.
He takes a hands-on approach and has a personal interest in everything that happens, meaning if you are a client of Axess Systems, you are well looked after.
With over 23 years’ experience in IT, Ed has seen a lot, catch him off guard, and he will gladly reminisce about the launch of NT4 Terminal Service Edition or Thin Path load balancer.
And if you’re fortunate about the time he was at a technology exhibition in Edinburgh. But you may need the assistance of a pint or two to hear that one.
While Ed is someone who prefers others to seek the limelight, in 2015 Ed was recognised by his industry peers when he won the SVC Awards – Individual of the Year.
So whether Ed is restoring classic Land Rovers, skiing in the alps or mountain biking around the Derbyshire Dales, it’s down to Ed that Axess Systems has its practical, customer focussed, and can do attitude.
Will Lingard
Director
Will joined Axess Systems from SCC in 2006 and has developed both the account management and business development functions.
In his role as a Director of Axess Systems, Will has the responsibility for business development, account management, and is responsible for vendor and distributors partnerships.
It is with through these partnerships we ensure we have the right products and services for our clients.
Also, Will acts as Account Director for our enterprise clients where his strategic insight and appreciation is required.
An avid Forest fan, Will can often be found at the City Ground cheering on the reds, but please do not hold that against him. We all have our crosses to bear.
Heath Roberts
Director
Heath is a Director at Axess Systems and oversees lead generation, marketing and standards for Information Security Management and Data Protection through ISO27001.
Joining Axess Systems in September 2008, Heath can draw upon an eclectic range of marketing experience gained from working for organisations implementing event overlay, telecoms, industrial recruitment and engineering.
Often found at the side of a hockey pitch, as he’s too old to play, Heath volunteers at a hockey youth academy, and has coached at club, county and England regional levels.
When not stood at the side of a hockey pitch, you can often find Heath stood at the side of a road, due to his interest in unreliable classic Italian cars.
Ashley Barlow
Senior Design Consultant
Plucked by Axess Systems at an early age when he was working as a Citrix administrator for the careers service, Ashley joined in 2010 and has amassed over 11 years Citrix and Digital Infrastructure experience.
As a Citrix Certified Expert in Virtualisation, it is fair to say Ashley has a passion for Citrix which borders on the erotic.
When he’s not evangelising at our seminars and workshops, he will often be one of the first consultants you meet when developing a solution to the IT challenges you are facing.
Ashley is the author of our Thursday Tips, and you can sign up to these insightful weekly emails here.
When he’s not espousing the benefits of Citrix, Ashley is also a season ticket holder at Derby County, which adds much spice to inter-department conversations, especially after the east midlands derby. (See Will’s profile)

Kris Haynes
Business Solutions Manager
For Kris technology is not something which takes place between the hours of 9 to 5.
He’s not so much an advocate of the Internet of Things, but for the Internet of Everything.
With the ability to automate his coffee machine so as he’s driving home the correct amount of water and caffeine are perfectly dispensed, whilst having lamps turned on and off and active heating controls adjusted, all based on room occupancy!
Kris believes in using technology to deliver efficiencies, promote healthy work/life balance and inspire innovation.
Kris is also a big believer of doing it yourself first, so you can guarantee if he’s talking about a technology, he’s probably installed it, broken it, fixed it or patched it at some point!
